Review Test Strategy

„Many are stubborn in reference of the way taken one time, few in reference to the goal.

(Friedrich Nietzsche)

Main objective of a test strategy is to test an optimal coverage with the available resources, that is to execute the most important test cases in depth within the given time frame with the available personnel and financial funds in an adequate test depth.

A methodical and comprehensible approach is needed in order to develop a test strategy and to adapt it wisely to changing project conditions. The traceability of the derivation of the test strategy but in particular the completeness and the content of the strategy are the key aspects of our review.

 Approach

On the basis of our check lists we verify your test strategy for

Completeness:

Are all aspects considered? (e. g. test objects, quality characterics, test phases, test depth, test goals, test ending criteria)

Traceability:

Is the derivation of the test strategy traceable so it can be adapted to changing project conditions?

Adequacy of the content:

Is the content of the strategy suited to reach the optimal result with the given resources?

The results of the review will be summarized in a review minutes and for each item concrete measures for optimization will be proposed. In a workshop these proposals together will be discussed and the results will be aggregates in a plan of action.

If desired the implementation of the action points can be checked by us at a separate time and if necessary the action plan can be extent and modified in agreement with you.
