A Test Plan contains the description of who has to do what, when and how in order to test a software system in an optimal way under consideration of the given general conditions. Because it is the basis for all test activities its completeness, consistency and traceability are particularly important.

If there exists already a Test Plan in your project we will assure its quality through a well-funded review and show you possible weak points and options for optimization.

Approach

You will forward your Test Plan together with the test basis (project brief, business proposal, IT Plan).

On the basis of our checklists we will verify the completeness of the test Planion regarding standards and best practises for test processes and quality characteristics as well as the consistency of the content and traceability of the single parts of the Test Plan.

Amongst others we will examine the

Traceability of the defined test goals and quality characteristics
Traceability of test object assignment
Completeness of risk identification and defined mitigation measures
Traceability of Test Strategy
Completeness and consistency of the test process
Completeness of the role Plan
Traceability and consistency of the effort estimation
Traceability and consistency of the test planning

We will document the results of the review in a review minutes formulating optimization suggestions for each item. In a workshop we will discuss these minutes and aggregate the results in a plan of action to eliminate the insufficiencies.

If desired we will verify the implementation of the plan of action in a separate meeting and coordinate supplements and modification of the plan if necessary.
